Problem

MyMacys.net portal's SharePoint 2013 upgrade presented opportunity to redesign navigation architecture, requiring exploration of mega-menu approach that would improve findability across enterprise portal serving 167,000 employees while maintaining familiarity.

What I Did

Designed mega-menu wireframes for SharePoint 2013 portal upgrade | Created scenarios showing different navigation dropdown configurations | Documented how mega-menu would integrate with existing portal structure

Impact

Improved portal content discoverability through structured mega-menu navigation | Reduced clicks required to reach deep portal content for 167,000 employees | Provided clear implementation blueprint for SharePoint 2013 upgrade

Lessons

Mega-menus solve enterprise portal navigation when done right—showing full content hierarchy reduces guessing and improves findability, but wireframes must be detailed enough to communicate organization, not just demonstrate the pattern. MyMacys.net—Wireframes depicting various scenarios for a redesigned portal navigation scheme, especially a new mega-menu, in conjunction with the SharePoint 2013 upgrade.
