Problem
The portal needed a header that could support enterprise navigation, search, and selected-state exploration without wasting vertical space or feeling visually heavy.
What I Did
Created header mockups for desktop and iPad views, including minified behavior and menu states for key tabs such as One Macy's, News, Centers, and Search.
Impact
The mockups made header behavior easier to discuss with stakeholders by showing concrete interaction states rather than abstract descriptions alone.
Lessons
Headers are never just branding bars. They are dense control surfaces, so clarity, compression, and predictable state changes matter.
This artifact explores how the portal header could become more compact, more structured, and more useful while still carrying the brand and enterprise navigation patterns users expected.
