Problem
Avanti Press needed fresh, authentic voices to contribute verses for their greeting card lines—writing that delivers genuine emotion, humor, and encouragement while standing out in a crowded market of generic sentiments.
What I Did
Wrote verses for birthday, humorous and supportive greeting card categories. Crafted copy balancing levity with authentic emotional resonance. Contributed to product lines for international greeting card publisher.
Impact
Published work distributed through major retail channels across multiple countries. Demonstrated versatility across humorous, supportive and celebratory tones. Contributed to catalog of cards delivering genuine connection versus generic sentiment.
Lessons
Good greeting card copy feels like it was written for one person, not a demographic. Specificity and authentic voice matter more than trying to appeal to everyone—the best cards take a point of view.
A heartfelt card at the right time can deliver a much-needed infusion of levity, encouragement, love and affection. The examples shown here are a snapshot of my contribution included in Avanti's 2021 product lines of humorous, supportive and inspiring cards.

An educational song celebrating the wild turkey through scientific facts and whimsical observations. Part nature documentary, part absurdist tribute, the song covers turkey biology, behavior, ecology and conservation while maintaining a catchy, tongue-in-cheek tone throughout.
