SunTrust Bank's mortgage section of website had grown organically without clear structure, requiring comprehensive IA redesign to improve findability, eliminate redundancy, and create logical organization that served customer needs during site overhaul.

Information architecture is as much about what you remove as what you add—consolidating redundant pages and eliminating dead ends often improves findability more than adding new navigation. As part of the SunTrust.com site overhaul, inventoried the existing site structure and content, then mapped a new architecture by adding, deleting, augmenting and combining pages and features for the mortgage section.
