Some users had difficulty self-identifying their network configurations for vulnerability scans. Whereas advanced users were accustomed to the existing UI, new users needed a more "hand-held" approach. Enter the Wizard, with its SAQ-like presentation layer, step-by-step workflow and on-demand help.

A UI redesign for USCIS's correspondence generation system—ECHO handles tens of thousands of immigration and citizenship letters monthly, including judicial review documents. Redesigned complex administrative interfaces under severe constraints: zero user access, limited stakeholder support, and pressure to "just make it better."

Prototype concept for State of Maine as flow management software for processing students' scholarship applications. These are screen captures of vibe-coded functionality using Figma Make AI.

Played integral role in site redesign. Collaborated on booking engine prototype, featuring the "Low Price Guarantee" and milestone markers. Components included the new tab style, "LOWEST" indicator, more readable progress display, and consolidated login area.

Assessed the desktop booking experience to recommend improvements. Compared it to the top ten airlines in the world by fleet size to gain insight into what the major industry players considered best practices.

This design sought to improve the "dashboardiness" of the compliance portlet on the landing page. The idea was to reinforce status with color and iconography, while providing quick contextual actions in a compact, at-a-glance footprint.

Neuro Event Labs — 2018
Created initial design in a few days for a nighttime neurological event monitoring and reporting system. The system records and analyzes a patient's seizure data and incorporates machine learning and heuristic algorithms to discern patterns, offer treatment options and present insights.

An historical fantasy novel set in 1236 Northern Europe, where the eastern rim of Christendom unravels amid crusading politics, tribal resistance and ancient powers beneath the waters.

I married a cat lady. Which wouldn't be so bad, except I'm allergic to most cats. I like them, but my immune system does not. I illustrated "Max" as an homage for my wife's favorite that passed a few years ago. "Outcats" is a logo for her YouTube cha el that features felines at the Furkids shelter that are perhaps unconventional--and, therefore, being passed over for adoption--but deserve love and a forever home, too.

A playful apparel line celebrating Finnish-English bilingual wordplay through aquatic-themed t-shirt designs, where fish names meet Finnish puns in clever, visual humor.
Commissioned Art Collection — 2021
A comprehensive design brief for a commissioned series of five carved walking sticks celebrating the snakes of the American Southeast—each stick depicts a different snake species mid-hunt with scientifically accurate prey, creating unified food web snapshots combining natural history with artisan craftsmanship.
Collectible Card Game — 2022-2023
A collectible card and dice game celebrating the diversity of life on Earth—where players build ecosystems using scientifically accurate flora and fauna, each card meticulously researched and balanced for strategic gameplay.
Educational Song Series — 2024
An educational song celebrating the wild turkey through scientific facts and whimsical observations. Part nature documentary, part absurdist tribute, the song covers turkey biology, behavior, ecology and conservation while maintaining a catchy, tongue-in-cheek tone throughout.
Inspirational Soundtrack — 2024
Three original songs explore the Northern Crusades from opposing perspectives. "Battle Hymn of Häme" is a defiant resistance anthem from indigenous Finnish defenders. "Eastlands March" tells the same conflict from the crusaders' viewpoint. "Saule Lament" sets the bleak mood for the crusaders' utter defeat by the Samogitians.
